Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Set the front wheels in the straight ahead position.




2. Mark the following wormshaft relationships:

* The upper joint (1) to the steering shaft (7).
* The lower joint (6) to the steering gear.

3. Remove the top and bottom pinch bolts (5).
4. Remove the intermediate steering shaft (7).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the intermediate shaft lower joint (6) and the upper joint (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the top and bottom pinch bolts (2, 5).

Tighten the pinch bolts to 62 Nm (45 lb ft).
