Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Vacuum Pump Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the lower fan shroud.
2. Remove vacuum line from exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve vacuum pump.




3. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
4. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.
5. Remove EGR vacuum pump mounting nuts.




6. Remove the EGR vacuum pump.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the EGR vacuum pump.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notices in Service Precautions.




2. Install the EGR vacuum pump mounting bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb in).

3. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
4. Install the drive belt tensioner.




5. Install vacuum line to EGR vacuum pump.
6. Install the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement-Lower in Cooling System.
