Auxiliary Battery

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Turn off all the lamps and accessories.
2. Turn the ignition OFF.
3. Remove the battery ground or negative cable and bolt from the battery 8.1L.




4. Remove the battery ground or negative cable and bolt from the battery for the 6.5L Diesel.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Connect the battery ground or negative cable and bolt from the battery 8.1L.

Tighten
Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).




2. Connect the battery ground or negative cable and bolt from the battery for the 6.5L (Diesel).

Tighten
Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
