EGR Tube: Service and Repair
EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PIPE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the retaining bolts (4).
2. Remove the bolt (3) from the right side head.
3. Remove the nuts (1) from the exhaust manifold.
4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe (2).
5. Remove the gaskets.
6. Clean the EGR valve pipe mounting surfaces from dirt and debris.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install new gaskets.
2. Install the EGR valve pipe (2).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the retaining bolts (4).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
4. Install the EGR valve pipe-to-cylinder head bolts (3) to the right side head.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
5. Install the nuts (1) to exhaust manifold.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
