Fluid Replacement
Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the oil fill plug.





3. Place a suitable drain pan under the transmission in order to catch the drained transmission fluid.
4. Remove the lower middle power take off (PTO) cover bolt.
5. Drain the fluid,

Installation Procedure





1. Apply a thin bead of sealant GM P/N 12345739 (Canadian P/N 10953541) or equivalent to the PTO bolt threads.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the PTO cover bolt.
- Tighten the PTO cover bolt to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).





3. Fill the transmission to just below the bottom of the fill plug hole.





4. Remove all existing sealant from the oil fill plug hole.
5. Apply a thin bead of sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent to the threads of the oil fill plug hole.
6. Install the oil fill plug.
- Tighten the oil fill plug to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower the vehicle.
