Disc Brake Backing Plate Replacement- Rear

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and the wheel assembly.
3. Remove the rear disc brake rotor.
4. Remove the bolts securing the backing plate to the axle flange.
5. Remove the backing plate.

Installation Procedure
1. Install the backing plate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the backing plate bolts.
Tighten the bolt to 105 Nm (78 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the rear disc brake rotor.
4. Install the tire and the wheel assembly.

Important: Pump the brake pedal until it is firm before moving the vehicle. Check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder after pumping the brakes.

5. Lower the vehicle.
