Engine Front Crossmember Replacement (2WD)

Removal Procedure




1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine crossmember bolts.




3. Remove the engine crossmember.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the engine crossmember.
2. Perform the following procedure before installing the bolts.

1. Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch.
2. Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
3. Apply threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

3. Install the engine crossmember bolts.

Tighten the engine crossmember bolts to 120 Nm (88 lb ft).

4. Lower the vehicle.
