EGR Tube: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove air cleaner outlet duct.
2. Remove the engine sight shield.
3. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
4. Remove the EGR pipe to intake manifold bolt.
5. Remove the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts.
6. Remove the EGR pipe bolt (3) from the right cylinder head.
7. Remove the EGR pipe (2).
8. Remove and discard the EGR pipe gasket (4).
9. Clean the EGR pipe mounting surfaces.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install a NEW EGR valve pipe gasket (4).
2. Install the EGR pipe (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the EGR pipe bolt (3) to the right cylinder head.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

4. Install the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the EGR pipe to intake manifold bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

6. Install the EGR valve.
7. Install the engine sight shield.
8. Install air cleaner outlet duct.
