Fan Shroud Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. If equipped with the 2.2 L, remove the air intake duct assembly:
1.1. Loosen the air duct clamps.
1.2. Remove the air duct rivets (2).
1.3. Remove the intake duct assembly (1) from the fan shroud (3).





2. Remove the upper fan shroud screws.





3. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the lower fan shroud.
4. Remove the upper fan shroud.





5. Lift the lower fan shroud just enough to disengage the locating tabs from the radiator.
6. Remove the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the lower fan shroud in the vehicle.
1.1. Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator.
1.2. Engage the locating tabs by pushing down on the fan shroud.





2. Install the upper fan shroud.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the upper fan shroud attaching screws.
^ Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





4. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the lower fan shroud.





5. If equipped with the 2.2 L, install the sir intake duct assembly:
^ Loosen the air duct clamps.
^ Remove the air duct rivets (2).
^ Remove the intake duct assembly (1) from the fan shroud (3).
^ Install the intake air ducts.
^ Tighten the intake air duct clamps 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).
^ Install the rivets (2).
