Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement (W/ Harrison)
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the A/C compressor hose mounting bolt from the A/C compressor.
3. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the A/C compressor.
4. Remove the nut from the accumulator.
5. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the accumulator.
6. Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Side) or Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper) in Cooling System.
7. Remove the nut from the condenser.
8. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose from the condenser.
9. Disconnect the A/C recirculation switch electrical connector from the A/C compressor hose assembly.
10. Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
11. Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the vehicle.
2. Connect the A/C recirculation switch electrical connector to the A/C compressor hose assembly.
3. Connect the A/C compressor hose assembly to the condenser using new sealing washers.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the nut at the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
5. Install the upper radiator baffle.Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Side) or Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper) in Cooling System.
6. Connect the A/C compressor hose assembly to the accumulator using new sealing washers.
7. Install the nut at the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
8. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
10. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
