Step Replacement (Fuel Tank Mounted)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the upper step to the fuel tank bolts and washers.
2. Remove the fuel tank cap. If you do not remove the fuel tank cap, the cap lanyard prevents the removal of the upper step.
3. Remove the upper step from the fuel tank.
4. Install the fuel tank cap.




5. Remove the following components from the lower step bracket:

* The bolts
* The nuts
* The washers

6. Remove the lower step from the brackets.

Installation Procedure




1. Remove the fuel tank cap.
2. Install the upper step to the tank.
3. Install the fuel tank cap.
4. Install the upper step to fuel tank bolts and washers.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Use the following components in order to install the lower step to the brackets:

* The bolts
* The washers
* The nuts

- Tighten the upper step fuel tank bolts to 39 Nm (29 lb ft).
- Tighten the lower step to bracket nuts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
