Battery Positive Cable Replacement - Auxiliary2
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the auxiliary negative battery cable.
2. Remove the auxiliary positive battery cable nut.
3. Remove the auxiliary battery cable clip from the fender wheel house inner panel.
4. Remove the auxiliary battery cable clip from the frame.
5. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
6. Remove the starter solenoid nut.
7. Remove the auxiliary positive battery cable from the starter solenoid stud.
8. Remove the bolt for the auxiliary battery negative cable.
9. Remove the nut for the battery cable retainer.
10. Remove the auxiliary positive cable from the retainer.
11. Remove the auxiliary battery cable assembly from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the auxiliary battery cable assembly to the starter.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the positive battery cable and nut to the starter.
Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the auxiliary battery cables in the retainer.
4. Install the retainer and nut to the oil pan.
Tighten
Tighten the battery cable retainer nut to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
5. Install the auxiliary negative battery cable bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary negative battery cable bolt to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).
6. Install the auxiliary positive battery cable nut.
Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary positive battery cable nut to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
7. Connect the auxiliary negative battery cable.
