Brake Hose Replacement - Front (Dual Piston Caliper)


Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the front tires and wheels assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
3. Clean the hose fittings at both ends. Remove all dirt, grease, and other foreign material.
4. Place a container under the hose to catch any dripping brake fluid.
5. Disconnect the brake pipe fitting.
6. Remove the brake pipe retainer.





7. Remove the front flex hose support bracket nut and bolt.
8. Remove the ABS sensor wire bracket bolt from the upper control arm.





9. Remove the front brake hose bolt and gasket from the caliper. 10. Remove the front brake hose.

Installation Procedure

Important: After installation, ensure that the front flex hose is not twisted and that the front flex hose does not contact any of the other components.





1. Replace the brass gasket with a new one.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the front brake hose to brake caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the front brake hose bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the ABS sensor wire bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the ABS sensor wire bracket bolt to 17 Nm(13 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the front brake hose support bracket bolt and nut.
Tighten
Tighten the front brake hose nut to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).





5. Install the front brake pipe retainer.
6. Connect the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
7. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
8. Install the front tires and wheels assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
9. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
