Brake Hose Replacement - Front (Single Piston Caliper)
Removal Procedure1. Raise and suitably support vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the front tires and wheels assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
3. Clean the hose fittings at both ends. Remove all dirt, grease, and other foreign material.
4. Place a container under the hose to catch any dripping brake fluid.
5. Disconnect the brake pipe fitting from the flex brake hose at the frame.
6. Remove the front brake hose retainer at the frame bracket.
7. Remove the hose front flex brake hose bolt and gaskets from the caliper.
8. Remove the brake hose.
Installation Procedure
Important: After installation, the brake hose must not be twisted, and the brake hose must not come in contact with other components.
1. Replace the brass gasket with a new one.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the front flex hose to the brake caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the brake pipe retainer.
4. Connect the brake pipe fitting to the front brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
5. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
6. Install the front tires and wheels assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
7. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
