Rotor Replacement (Models Above 8600 GVW)

Removal Procedure





1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable stands. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement.
4. Remove the nut.





5. Remove the rear hub/rotor retaining bolts (1).





6. Remove the front hub/rotor retaining bolts (1).
7. Remove the rotor assembly.
8. Inspect all of the parts. Replace the parts as necessary.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the hub/rotor to the hub and bearing assembly.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the rotor and hub assembly to the axle.

^ Tighten the bolts to 180 Nm (133 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the nut to 225 Nm (165 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement.
4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
5. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Depress the brake pedal.
