Engine Brake Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the air tank. Refer to Draining Reservoirs in Air Brakes.




2. Disconnect the air line from the exhaust brake actuator elbow.




3. Note position of lower exhaust clamp and loosen.
4. Remove the rear exhaust manifold pipe from the exhaust brake.
5. Note position of the top exhaust brake clamp and the exhaust brake.
6. Disconnect the top exhaust brake clamp, the exhaust brake and the gasket from the Turbo.




7. Note position of the elbow and remove from the exhaust brake actuator.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the elbow to the exhaust brake actuator in original position.




2. Install the new gasket, the exhaust brake on the Turbo with the upper clamp in original position.




3. Install the lower manifold pipe to exhaust brake with clamp in original position.




4. Connect the air line to the elbow on the exhaust brake actuator.
5. Refill air tank. Refer to Filling Reservoirs in Air Brakes.
6. Check system for leaks.
