Radiator Shutter Circuit Description
Radiator Shutter Circuit Description
The AXLE Circuit Breaker supplies voltage through CKT 241 (BRN) to the Radiator Shutter Control Valve when the ignition is in RUN.
Current flows through the control valve through CKT 36 (LT GRN) to the Radiator Shutter Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.
The following actions occur when the coolant temperature is below 90.6°C (195°F):
* The sensor remains closed.
* The current flows through the sensor to ground through CKT 150 (BLK).
These actions complete the circuit.
Air or oil pressure is allowed to flow through the Radiator Shutter Control Valve. Air or oil pressure flow closes the Radiator Shutter.
The coolant sensor monitors the engine coolant temperature. The sensor opens when the coolant temperature reaches 90.6°C (195°F).
The following actions occur when the coolant temperature reaches 90.6°C (195°F):
* The circuit opens.
* The Radiator Shutter Control Valve closes.
* The air pressure or the oil pressure bleeds off.
* The Radiator Shutters open.
