Front Floor Mat/Carpet Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the seats and seat belts. Refer to Seat Replacement (Two-Passenger Seat) Seat Replacement (Two-Passenger Seat)Seat Replacement (Three-Passenger Seat) Seat Replacement (Three-Passenger Seat)Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat) Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat) in Seats.
2. Remove the door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the engine access cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.
5. Remove the mat to floor retaining screws.




6. Lift the mat off the tabs at the cowl and remove the mat (1) from the floor.

Installation Procedure





Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the mat (1) to the floor with the screws.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

2. Lift the mat onto the tabs at the cowl. Bend the tabs back.
3. Install the seats and the seat belts. Refer to Seat Replacement (Two-Passenger Seat) Seat Replacement (Two-Passenger Seat)Seat Replacement (Three-Passenger Seat) Seat Replacement (Three-Passenger Seat)Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat) Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat) in Seats.
4. Install the hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.
5. Install the engine access cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
6. Install the door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement Service and Repair.
