Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement
Removal ProcedureImportant: Note the position of all the tie-wraps, power steering hoses and the hose insulators for proper reinstallation.
1. Remove the tie-wraps and the hose insulators.
2. Disconnect the pressure hose from the rear of the power steering pump.
3. Disconnect the pressure hose from the hydraulic brake booster inlet.
4. Remove the power steering hose from vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Do not start the engine with any power steering hose disconnected, or damage to the components could occur.
Important: Observe the following when reinstalling or replacing a hose:
- Route the hoses in the proper position.
- Route the hoses smoothly. Avoid sharp bends and kinking.
- Install all tie wraps and hose insulators in their original positions. Failure to do so may cause unwanted noise, vibration, or harshness in the passenger compartment.
1. Install the power steering hose to vehicle.
2. Connect the pressure hose to the hydraulic brake booster inlet.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Connect the pressure hose to the rear power steering pump.
Tighten the hose fittings to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the tie wraps and the hose insulators.
5. Bleed the system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
