P/S Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the upper fan shroud.
2. Remove the fan.
3. Remove the lower fan shroud.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Place a container under the power steering system in order to catch the fluid when disconnecting or connecting the power steering cooler hoses.





6. Disconnect the power steering cooler hose from the steering pump.
7. Disconnect the power steering cooler pipe hose from the steering gear.





8. Remove the power steering cooler pipe (2) from the air baffle (3).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the power steering cooler pipe (2) to the air baffle (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Connect the power steering cooler pipe to the steering gear.
Tighten the power steering cooler pipe hose fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the power steering cooler hose to the steering pump.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Install the lower fan shroud.
6. Install the fan.
7. Install the upper fan shroud.
8. Fill the power steering reservoir with power steering fluid to the COLD/FULL mark.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
