Fuel Hose/Pipes Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
3. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
4. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure.
5. Disconnect the fuel return (4), fuel feed (6), and [1][2]EVAP line (7) from the fuel tank lines (5).
6. Drain gasoline from pipes into an approved container.
7. Remove the fuel tank.




8. Remove the fuel and [1][2]EVAP lines (1) from the fuel tank sending unit (2).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
^ In order to reduce the risk Of fire and personal in~jury, before connecting fuel pipe fittings, always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends.
^ This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak.
^ During normal operation, the 0-rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnection if not lubricated.




1. Install fuel and [1][2]EVAP lines (1) to the fuel tank sending unit (2).
2. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement.




3. Connect the fuel return (4), fuel feed (6), and [1][2]EVAP line (7) to the fuel tank lines (5).
4. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Inspect for a fuel leak.
6.1. Turn ON the ignition switch for 2 seconds.
6.2. Turn OFF the ignition switch for 10 seconds.
6.3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
6.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
