Rear Chassis
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the EVAP canister fuel vapor pipe (5) from the rear chassis [1][2]EVAP pipe.
2. Disconnect the [1][2]EVAP pipe (7) from the fuel tank EVAP pipe (5).
3. Release the fuel/[1][2]EVAP pipe grommet (2) from crossrail.
4. Remove the fuel/[1][2]EVAP pipe retainer fastener (3) from crossrail.
5. Release the [1][2]EVAP pipe from the retainer (8) and the grommet (2).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
^ In order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury, before connecting fuel pipe fittings, always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends.
^ This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak.
^ During Normal! operation, the O-rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnection if not lubricated.
1. Position the new [1][2]EVAP pipe through the crossrails in the original location.
2. Position the [1][2]EVAP pipe into crossrail retainer (8) and crossrail grommet (2).
3. Install fuel/[1][2]EVAP pipe grommet (2) into crossrail.
4. Lubricate the grommet to aid in installation.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Install fuel/[1][2]EVAP pipe retainer fastener (3) to crossrail.
Tighten
Tighten fuel/[1][2]EVAP pipe cross rail retainer to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
6. Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the rear male connector pipe ends.
7. Connect the [1][2]EVAP pipe (7) to the fuel/EVAP tank pipe (5).
8. Connect the EVAP canister fuel vapor pipe (5) to the rear chassis [1][2]EVAP pipe.
