Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the air inlet tube wingnut.




4. Remove the air inlet tube.




5. Disconnect the [1][2]EVAP purge line.




6. Disconnect the purge solenoid electrical connector.




7. Remove the purge solenoid mounting nuts.

EVAP Purge Valve:

8. Remove the purge solenoid from the intake manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

EVAP Purge Valve:

1. Install the purge solenoid to the Intake manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the purge solenoid mounting nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).




3. Connect the purge solenoid electrical connector.




4. Connect the [1][2]EVAP purge line.




5. Install the air inlet tube.




6. Install the air inlet tube wingnut.
7. Install the engine cover.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
