Master Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Apply the parking brake.





2. Disconnect the brake pipes.
3. Plug the pipes in order to prevent brake fluid loss or contamination.





4. Remove the master cylinder nuts.
5. Remove the master cylinder.

Installation Procedure
Before you install the master cylinder, bench bleed the master cylinder.





1. Install the master cylinder.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the master cylinder nuts.
- Tighten the nuts to 36 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).





3. Loosely connect the brake pipes.
- Tighten the pipe nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
4. Bleed the brake system.
