Brake Pipe Replacement-Rear

Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle.





2. Remove the brake pipe retainers as necessary.





3. Disconnect the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder.





4. Disconnect the brake pipe from the junction block.
5. Remove the brake pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Caution: Refer to Brake Pipe Replacement Caution in Service Precautions.

Important: Brake pipes that run parallel to each other must maintain a 6 mm (1/4 inch) clearance.





1. Install the brake pipe to the vehicle.
2. Loosely install the brake pipe nuts to the junction block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. Loosely install the brake pipe nut to the wheel cylinder.
- Tighten the brake pipe nuts to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the brake pipe retainers as necessary.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Bleed the brake system.
