REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the cap from the wiper motor (1) spindle.
3. Remove the nut from the wiper motor (1) spindle.
4. Remove the wiper arm.
5. Remove the nut from the wiper motor (1) spindle.
6. Remove the following components from the wiper motor (1) spindle:
^ The grommet
^ The washer
7. Open the liftgate (3).
8. Remove the trim panel.
9. Remove the wiper motor (1) to liftgate bolts/screws (2).
10. Remove the wiper motor (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the wiper motor (1) to the liftgate (3).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the wiper motor (1) to liftgate bolts/screws (2).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts/screws to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in).

3. Install the trim panel.
4. Close the liftgate (3).
5. Install the following components to the wiper motor (1) spindle:
^ The grommet
^ The washer
6. Install the nut to the wiper motor (1) spindle.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Install the cap to the wiper motor (1) spindle.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
