Installation Procedure

Tools Required
J 29843-9 Door Lock Striker and Seat Belt Torx(R) Wrench

Description:

1. Install the retractor side belt (1) to the vehicle.
2. Install the retractor side seat belt anchor bracket (5) to the seat stud (4).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the nuts securing the front seat/retractor side seat belt (1) lower anchor bracket to the floor.
Tighten
Tighten the front seat/retractor side seat belt lower anchor nuts to 40 N.m (30 lb. ft).

4. Install the seat belt retractor (2) to the B-pillar (1).
5. Use the J29843-9 in order to install the retractor bolt (3).
Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt retractor bolt to 43 N.m (32 lb. ft).

Description:

6. Snap the plastic escutcheon (3) into the B-pillar trim where the retractor side seat belt webbing exits.
7. Install the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim in Rear Quarters.
8. Install the center pillar upper trim panels. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim in Rear Quarters.
9. Install the nut securing the front seat belt upper guide loop anchor (2) to the B-pillar.
Tighten
Tighten the front seat belt upper guide loop anchor nut to 29 N.m (21 lb. ft).
10. Snap the plastic shoulder belt guide cover to the adjuster bracket (2).
