REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.
2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
3. Remove the drive belt.
4. Remove the generator front brace.
5. Remove the generator rear brace.
6. Remove the generator.
7. Remove the generator bracket.
8. Disconnect the right (rear) spark plug wires.
9. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve.





10. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve.





11. Remove the ignition coil bracket with the coils.
12. Remove the vacuum hose from the grommet in the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover.





13. Remove the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover bolt.
14. Remove the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover.
15. Remove the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover gasket
16. Clean the valve rocker arm cover.
17. Clean the valve rocker arm cover gasket sealing surfaces on the cylinder head and the lower intake manifold.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install a new right (rear) valve rocker arm cover gasket.

IMPORTANT: Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.

2. Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint at the rear of the lower intake manifold (1).





IMPORTANT: Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.

3. Apply sealant at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint at the front of the lower intake manifold (1).





4. Install the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover. Hand tighten the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover bolts.
^ Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

5. Install the vacuum hose to the grommet in the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover.





6. Install the ignition coil bracket with coils.





7. Install the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve.





8. Connect the vacuum hoses from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve.
9. Connect the right (rear) spark plug wires.
10. Install the generator bracket.
11. Install the generator.
12. Install the generator rear brace.
13. Install the generator front brace.
14. Install the drive belt.
15. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair
16. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable.
