Trailing Arm Bushing: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Special Tools:
- J 29792 Front Control Arm Bushing Service Set
- J 28685 Rear Suspension Bushing Service Set

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle.
2. Remove the trailing arm from the vehicle. Refer to Trailing Arm Replacement (Trailing Arm).





3. Use the J 29792 installer, the J 29792 spacer and the J 28685 remover in order to mount the trailing arm into a press.
4. Press the bushing out until it bottoms into the J 28685 remover.





5. Release the pressure from the press.
6. Remove the J 28685 remover.
7. Install the J 28685 installer.
8. Press the remainder of the bushing out of the trailing arm.





INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

^ Special Tools:
- J 29792 Front Control Arm Bushing Service Set
- J 9519-9 Bearing Installer

1. Use the J 29792 installer, the J 29792 spacer and the J 9519-9 in order to mount the trailing arm into a press.
2. Use a press (1) in order to install the new bushing into the trailing arm.
3. Install the trailing arm to the vehicle. Refer to Trailing Arm Replacement (Trailing Arm).
4. Lower the vehicle.
