Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the fuel tank (2) from the vehicle.
2. Loosen the clamp from the fuel return hose to the fuel pump.
3. Disconnect the fuel return hose (4) from the fuel pump (1).
4. Remove the bolt from the fuel feed inlet hose to the fuel pump.
5. Disconnect the fuel feed inlet hose (3) from the fuel pump.
6. Remove the six screws (5) from the fuel pump to the fuel tank.
7. Remove the fuel pump (1) from the fuel tank (2).

Installation Procedure
1. Install the fuel pump to the fuel tank.
2. Secure the fuel pump with the six screws (5).
3. Connect the fuel feed inlet hose (3) to the fuel pump.
4. Secure the fuel feed inlet hose with the one bolt and tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).
5. Connect the fuel return hose (4) to the fuel pump.
6. Secure the fuel return hose with one clamp.
7. Install the fuel tank to the vehicle.
8. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the terminal retainer bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
