Radiator Pipe Replacement - Outlet
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the radiator cap.
2. Start the engine.
3. Operate the engine for 15 minutes.
4. Stop the engine.
5. Open the drain plug (3) on the radiator in order to drain the coolant.
6. Loosen and reposition the radiator outlet hose clamp (1) that secures the radiator outlet pipe (2) to the radiator outlet hose #1 (8).
7. Loosen and reposition radiator outlet hose clamp (1) that secures the radiator outlet pipe (2) to the radiator outlet hose #2 (3).
8. Remove one bolt and the radiator outlet pipe (2) from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the new hose clamps (1) on the open ends of the radiator outlet hoses #1 (8) and #2 (3) before installing the radiator outlet pipe (2).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Secure the radiator outlet pipe (2) to the vehicle with one bolt in the outlet pipe support.
^ Tighten the outlet pipe support bolt to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
3. Install the radiator hoses #1 (8) and #2 (3) to the radiator outlet pipe (2).
4. Position the hose over the coolant intake pipe flares.
5. Secure the hose with hose clamps (1).
6. Fill the radiator with an approved coolant.
