4L60-E Automatic Transmission

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the starter.





3. Remove the bolts securing the starter cover to the transmission.





4. Remove the flywheel to converter bolts.

IMPORTANT: Mark the alignment of the flywheel and the converter in order to retain a proper balance.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the flywheel to converter bolts. Hand start the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 63 Nm (46 lb ft).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: All flywheel to converter bolts should be hand started before tightening in order to ensure proper alignment, and in order to avoid cross-threading.





2. Install the bolts securing the starter cover to the transmission.
- Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

3. Install the starter.





4. Lower the vehicle.
