4L60-E Automatic Transmission

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the starter.





3. Remove the access cover located at the bottom of the transmission bell housing.





4. Remove the flywheel to converter bolts.

IMPORTANT: Mark the alignment of the flywheel and the converter in order to retain a proper balance.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the flywheel to converter bolts. Hand start the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 63 Nm (46 lb ft).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: All flywheel to converter bolts should be hand started before tightening in order to ensure proper alignment, and in order to avoid cross-threading.


2. Install the starter.





3. Install the access cover located at the bottom of the transmission bell housing.
4. Lower the vehicle.
