Auxiliary System



HEATER CORE REPLACEMENT - AUXILIARY

Auxiliary Heater Case:






NOTE: This procedure is for vehicles without rear A/C. OE did not provide a procedure for vehicles With Rear A/C; however, OE did provide a procedure for removing the auxiliary evaporator core which may assist in the removal of the auxiliary heater core. Refer to Evaporator Core.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the right rear quarter interior trim, as necessary.
3. Remove the right rear wheelhouse panel.
4. Disconnect the auxiliary heater hoses from heater core.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors, as necessary.
6. Remove the drain valve.
7. Remove the bolts.
8. Remove the nuts.
9. Remove the heater module.
10. Remove the blower motor, if necessary.
11. Remove the heater case cover.
12. Remove the heater core.

Auxiliary Heater Case:






Install or Connect

1. Install the heater core.
2. Install the heater case cover.
3. Install the blower motor, if necessary.
4. Install the heater module.
5. Install the nuts.
6. Install the bolts.
7. Tighten the following fasteners.

Tighten
- Bolts to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
- Nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

8. Install the drain valve.
9. Connect the electrical connectors, as necessary.
10. Connect the auxiliary heater hoses to heater core.
11. Install the right rear wheelhouse panel.
12. Install the right rear quarter trim panel.
13. Add the engine coolant.
14. Inspect the system for leaks.

- If the fluid charging system is not used, the system must be burped to release air bubbles.
