Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the engine fan shroud.
4. Remove the generator mounting bracket.
5. Remove the generator mounting bracket stud from the cylinder head.
6. Remove the lower intake manifold.
7. Remove the exhaust manifold.
8. Remove the valve pushrods.





9. Remove the ground wire from the rear of the cylinder head.





10. Remove the cylinder head bolts.
11. Remove the cylinder head.
12. Clean all sealing surfaces. Refer to Cylinder Head Clean and Inspect under Engine Unit Repair.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Installation under Engine Unit Repair.
2. Install the valve pushrods.





3. Install the ground wire stud and ground wire to the rear of the cylinder head.
^ Tighten the ground wire stud to 10 Nm (88 inch lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the exhaust manifold.
5. Install the intake manifold.





6. Install the stud for the generator mounting bracket.
^ Tighten the generator mounting bracket stud to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

7. Install the generator mounting bracket.
8. Install the fan shroud.
9. Fill the engine coolant system.
10. Connect the battery negative cable.
11. Install the engine cover.
