Pipe Replacement (Front Brake Pipe)



REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Brake pipes that run parallel to each other must maintain a 6 mm (1/4 inch) clearance.

CAUTION: Always use double-walled steel brake pipe when replacing brake pipes. The use of any other pipe is not recommended and may cause brake system failure. Carefully route and retain replacement brake pipes. Always use the correct fasteners and in the original location for replacement brake pipes. Failure to properly route and retain brake pipes may cause damage to the brake pipes and brake system failure.





1. Disconnect the front brake pipe from the front brake hose.





2. Disconnect the front brake pipe from the EBCM unit.
3. Remove the retaining clips of the brake pipe from the frame.





4. Remove the from brake pipe from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the front brake pipe to the vehicle.
2. Install the retaining clips of the brake pipe to the frame.
3. Connect the brake pipe to the EBCM unit.
^ Tighten the front brake pipe to the EBCM unit to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Connect the front brake pipe to the front brake hose.
^ Tighten the front brake pipe to the front brake hose to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

5. Bleed the brake hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual Bleeding) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure Bleeding).
