Front Brake Line

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the brake pipe retainers as necessary.
2. Remove the brake pipe from the vehicle.





INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Caution: Always use double-walled steel brake pipe when replacing brake pipes. The use of any other pipe is not recommended and may cause brake system failure. Carefully route and retain replacement brake pipes. Always use the correct fasteners and in the original location for replacement brake pipes. Failure to properly route and retain brake pipes may cause damage to the brake pipes and brake system failure.

Important: Brake pipes that run parallel to each other must maintain a 6 mm (1/4 inch) clearance.

1. Install the brake pipe retainers as necessary.
2. Install the brake pipe to the vehicle.

NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and joint clamping force, and may damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Connect the brake pipe nuts.
^ Tighten the brake pipe nuts to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
