Shift Cable: Adjustments

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT





1. Shift lever knob retainer.
2. Shift lever knob.
3. Front floor console.
4. Place shift lever in neutral.





5. Pry the control cable end from the shift lever.
6. Loosen control cable lock nut.

Adjust
1. Check transfer case to ensure it is in neutral position.
2. Place shift lever in neutral position.
3. Turn shift lever end of cable in or out, as needed, until it is aligned with shift lever.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Control cable to the shift lever.
2. Control cable lock nut.
- Tighten lock nut to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
3. Front floor console.
4. Shift lever knob.
5. Shift lever knob retainer.
