Flywheel: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the flywheel bolts.

CAUTION: If the flywheel is cracked or damaged, replace it.

3. Remove the flywheel.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the flywheel.
2. Install the flywheel spacer, if used.

NOTE: You must thoroughly remove the old thread adhesive from the flywheel bolts and bolt holes. Use a round nylon bristle brush in order to remove the old adhesive.

3. Apply Loctite(R) 271 or equivalent to all fly wheel bolts. Carefully follow the instructions that are included with the thread locking compound to ensure that the bolts are retained properly.
4. Install the flywheel bolts.
- Tighten the flywheel bolts to 75 Nm (55 lb ft)
5. Install the transmission.
