EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Subject:
Electric Truck Component Exchange Program

Models:
1997-98 Chevrolet S Pick-up Trucks

In 1997 Chevrolet introduced a revolutionary electrically powered S10 pickup offered exclusively to commercial customers. These vehicles are sold and serviced through a limited number of authorized Chevrolet Electric Vehicle dealers. This S10 Electric Truck is warranted for 3 years/36,000 miles (except the propulsion battery pack) whichever comes first. This innovative vehicle contains unique technically advanced components that will not be serviceable at the dealership level. To service these components, and at the same time obtain valuable information for the product team, an exchange program will be initiated for two years. Conclusion of this exchange program will be communicated by a Technical Service Bulletin.

Exchange Components

The following components will be serviced on an exchange basis through Chevrolet Technical Assistance and will not be available through GMSPO until the conclusion of this exchange program:

Description Part Number

Drive unit 19010301
Power Inverter Module 16254475
Accessory Power Control Module 16254547
Power Steering Control Module 16254476
Charge Port 16234312

Exchange Procedure

Only authorized Chevrolet Electric Vehicle dealers have trained service personnel capable of diagnosing and servicing the Chevrolet S10 Electric Truck. Using published service manual diagnostic procedures the servicing technician determines if an exchange component requires service. When an exchange component is needed, the Chevrolet Technical Assistance Network should be called (1-800-227-3175) to establish a case. The Technical Assistance representative will record required information and make arrangements to ship the required component directly from the source to the dealer.

A TAN case number will be assigned to each component exchanged. This case number should be recorded by the dealership service personnel and should be used to identify the exchanged component when returned.

Returning Components

The removed component must be returned within 10 working days from the date of receipt. Failure to return the removed component will result in the dealership being charged for each component not returned.

Complete the forms/tags supplied with the replacement component and attach securely to the removed component. Use the original shipping container and packing material and follow the all return instructions.
