Center High Mounted Stoplamp (CHMSL)

Pickup

Description:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Dome lamp lens by squeezing lens to release tabs.
3. Dome lamp bulb.
4. Screws that retain the dome lamp base to the CHMSL from inside the vehicle.
5. Dome lamp base from the vehicle.
6. Dome Lamp/CHMSL electrical connector.
7. CHMSL from the vehicle.

Install or Connect
1. CHMSL to the vehicle.
2. Dome lamp/CHMSL electrical connector.
3. Dome lamp base to the vehicle.
4. Screws that retain the dome lamp base to the CHMSL from inside the vehicle.

Tighten
- Screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

5. Dome lamp bulb.
6. Dome lamp lens by squeezing lens to engage tabs.
7. Negative battery cable.

Utility - Roof - Mounted





Remove or Disconnect
1. Screws that retain the CHMSL to the roof.
2. CHMSL from the vehicle.
3. Electrical connector.
- Pull the electrical connector through the hole in the roof and disconnect.

Install or Connect
4. Electrical connector.
- Connect the electrical connector and push it through the hole in the roof.
5. CHMSL to the vehicle.
6. Screws that retain the CHMSL to the roof.
Tighten
- CHMSL screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).

Utility - Endgate Window-Mounted





Remove or Disconnect


1. Screws that retain the CHMSL to the endgate window.
2. CHMSL from the vehicle.
3. Electrical connector.
- Pull the rubber grommet from the body at the top of the endgate opening.
- Pull the electrical connector through the hole in the body and disconnect.

Install or Connect
4. Electrical connector.
- Connect the electrical connector and push it through the hole in the body.
- Insert the rubber grommet into the hole, making sure that it is properly seated.
5. CHMSL to the vehicle.
6. Screws that retain the CHMSL to the endgate window.

Tighten
- CHMSL screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).
