Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure1. Remove the rocker arm cover.
2. Remove the rocker arm nuts.
NOTE: Be sure that the valve train components are kept together and identified so that they can be installed in their original locations.
3. Remove the rocker arm balls.
4. Remove the rocker arms
5. Remove the pushrods.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the pushrods.
NOTE: Make sure that the pushrods seat in the lifters.
2. Install the rocker arms.
3. Install the rocker arm balls.
4. Install the rocker arms nuts.
^ Tighten the rocker arm nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
5. Install the rocker arms.
6. The valve should sit on the base circle of the camshaft.
7. Install the rocker arm cover.
