Liftgate Window Release
Voltage for the operation of the Liftgate Window Release Actuator is supplied through CTSY Fuse 2 and the ORN (40) wire to the Liftgate Window Release Switch located on the Instrument Panel and to the Liftgate Lock Switch located at the Liftgate. When the Liftgate Window Release Switch is depressed, voltage is applied through the closed contacts of the switch and the BLK/WHT (56) wire to the Liftgate Window Release Actuator. When the Liftgate Lock Switch is depressed and the LH Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Switch is closed (LH Front Door unlocked), then voltage is applied through the closed contacts of the Liftgate Lock Switch to the BLK (1576) wire, through the Front Side Door Lock Cylinder Switch to the BLK/WHT (56) wire, and through the BLK(WHT (56) wire to the Liftgate Window Release Actuator. The Liftgate Lock Switch must be unlocked before it may be depressed to open the Liftgate window.Grounding is available at the Liftgate Window Release Actuator if a required condition is met. When the parking brake is engaged on vehicles with manual transmissions, grounding is available from chassis ground through the closed contacts of the Park Brake Warning Switch and through the LT BLU (1134) wire and the ORN/BLK (434) wire to the Liftgate Window Release Actuator. When the automatic transmission is in park or neutral, grounding is available from Engine Grounds G102 and G104 through the BLK (150) wire, the closed contacts of the Transmission Range Switch (Park/Neutral Position And Backup Lamp Switch) and the ORN/BLK (434) wire to the Liftgate Window Release Actuator.
The operation of the Liftgate Window Release Switch with Remote Keyless Entry is similar. Refer to Remote Keyless Entry. Keyless Entry
Vehicles with liftgates are also provided with a Liftgate Ajar Indicator lamp located on the Instrument Cluster. This warning lamp is illuminated when the Ignition Switch is in the Run position and either the liftgate or the liftglass is open. Lamp operating voltage is supplied to the Instrument from GAUGES Fuse 4 through the ORN (39) wire. When the PNK/BLK (1303) wire is continuous to ground, the lamp is illuminated. The PNK/BLK (1303) wire is grounded through the closed contacts in the Liftgate Ajar Switch and the BLK (150) wire to Grounds G102 and G104 when the Liftgate is open. The PNK/BLK (1303) wire is also grounded through the WHT/BLK (158) wire, the Liftgate Liftglass Jamb Switch and the BLK (150) wire to Grounds G102 and G104 when the Liftglass is open.
The grounding circuitry is also shared with the Cargo Lamp. When the Cargo Lamp switch is in the On position, the Cargo Lamp will also be illuminated whenever the Liftgate Ajar Indicator lamp is illuminated. Also, because of the shared grounding circuitry, the Liftgate Ajar Indicator will be illuminated any time the Interior Lights System illuminates the Cargo Lamp. Refer to interior Lights. Keyless Entry
