Fluid - Transfer Case: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
- Raise the vehicle and suitably support it.

1. Transfer case shield.
- Place a drain pan under the drain plug.
2. Drain plug. Allow the oil to drain.
3. Fill plug.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Drain plug.
- Apply pipe sealant to the threads of the drain plug before installing.
- Tighten drain plug to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
2. Fill the transfer case with oil.
3. Fill plug.
- Apply pipe sealant to the threads of the fill plug before installing.
- Tighten fill plug to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Transfer case shield.
- Lower the vehicle.
