Flex Plate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the flywheel bolts.
3. Remove the flywheel.
4. Clean the mating surfaces of the crankshaft. Remove any burrs.
5. Clean the mating surfaces of the flywheel. Remove any burrs.
6. Inspect the flywheel for the following conditions:
^ Worn teeth
^ Broken teeth
^ Cracks
7. Replace the flywheel if necessary.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the flywheel.
2. Install the flywheel bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 90 Nm (65 lb ft).
3. Install the transmission.
