Brake Caliper: Testing and Inspection


With the caliper removed, inspect the inside of the caliper assembly for signs of fluid leakage. If any are found, overhaul the caliper as outlined in Service and Repair.

Inspect the mounting bolts and sleeves for corrosion. Replace any corroded bolts or sleeves. Do not attempt to polish away the corrosion.
