Intake Manifold Installation

1. Install seals on the cylinder block.
2. Install the gasket onto the cylinder head.
3. Install the lower intake manifold onto the engine block.
4. Coat the lower intake manifold bolts with thread locking sealant GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent.





5. Install the lower intake manifold bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts in sequence to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).





6. Install the upper intake manifold gaskets.
7. Install the upper intake manifold.
8. Cover a minimum of 8 threads of the upper manifold bolts with thread locking sealant GM P/N 12345493.





9. Install the upper intake manifold bolts.
1) In the first pass, tighten all bolts in sequence to 8 Nm (72 inch lbs.).
2) In the second pass, tighten all bolts in sequence to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).
