Cylinder Block Disassemble

1. Remove the cooling jacket plugs by using the following procedure:
(1) Obtain a suitable self-threading screw.
(2) Drill a hole into the plug.
(3) Install the self-threading screw.
(4) Remove the jacket plugs.
2. Remove the oil gallery plugs.
3. Remove the fuel pump/oil pressure switch.
4. Remove the knock sensor.





5. Remove the oil filter adapter using the following procedure (4WD only):
(1) Remove the pipe plugs from the oil filter adapter.
(2) Remove the bolts from the oil filter adapter.
(3) Remove the oil filter adapter and the seal.





6. Remove the oil filter fitting (2WD).





7. Remove the oil bypass valves. Discard the valves.
