Tools Required:
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

Remove or Disconnect
1. Wiper arm assemblies.
2. Cowl vent grille.
3. Wiper motor electrical connector.
4. Transmission drive link from crank arm using J 39232.
5. Wiper motor bolts.
6. Wiper motor assembly from the vehicle.

Install or Connect

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions.

1. Wiper motor assembly to the vehicle.
2. Wiper motor bolts.

Tighten
^ Wiper motor bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb.in.)

3. Transmission drive link to crank arm using J 39529.
^ Lubricate the inside of the socket with a lithium- based grease (GM P/N 9985885 or equivalent).

IMPORTANT
^ Wiper transmission assembly must be assembled to the crank arm past the second detent so that the seal is compressed to a maximum height of 25 mm (1 inch).

4. Cowl vent grille.
5. Wiper motor electrical connector.
6. Wiper arm assemblies.
