Case Adapter: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Transfer case.
2. Bolts and washers securing the adapter to the transmission.
3. Raise the rear of the transmission slightly.
4. Transfer case adapter from the vehicle.
5. Transfer case adapter seal.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Transfer case adapter seal.
- Use a gasket sealer on both sides of the gasket to secure the gasket to transmission and adapter.
2. Ensure the rear of the transmission is raised slightly.
3. Bolts and washers securing the transfer case adapter to the transmission.
- Tighten adapter to transmission bolts to 52 Nm (38 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the rear of the transmission.
5. Transfer case to the adapter.
